:Introduction: What words express, for you, the nature of fire? Does “hungry” work? What do you think God intends to communicate by the phrase “consuming fire” - as descriptive of Himself?
A. The Spirit/Fire of God “consumes” sin.
a. What, if any, differences in understanding do you suppose Moses had regarding fire – thinking of his culture vs. ours?
b. What other Scriptures support the idea that God’s way of dealing with sin is – fire?
c. How would you respond to someone who said that she no longer believed there was an actual “hell” and thought that the Bible verses about hell have more to do with “hell on earth”?
d. Read Jude, verses 5-7. What immediate reflections do you have of these verses?
B. The Spirit/Fire consecrates sinners – into saints.
a. Read Exodus 24:1-18.
b. What strikes you as read/hear these verses?
c. Read 2 Corinthians 3:13-18.
d. Do these verses speak of a similar experience as what you read in Ex. 24? How so?
